Developing Local Talent in Atacama
In the communities near our operations in Chile, many residents see the mining industry as a meaningful path for their future. At Caserones, we have run the Programa de Integración Laboral Atacama (PILA) since 2018, offering residents of the Atacama Region with no prior mining experience the opportunity to train as haul‑truck operators.
PILA participants receive both theoretical instruction and hands‑on training at the site, developing the skills they need to enter the mining industry and build a long‑term career at Caserones. In 2025, the program focused exclusively on women, bringing greater diversity to our teams and helping increase female participation in a field traditionally dominated by men.
PILA allows us to continue to support the community, strengthen local capabilities, expand opportunities, and advance a mining industry that is more inclusive, sustainable, and closely connected to the people of the region.
